Haruki Murakami is the deckest author writing today. From "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" to "Norwegian Wood" his ever-expanding volume of work is remarkably strong and unique. He loves to dabble in the genres of noir and detective fiction, often elevating the everyday lives of his milquetoast protagonists to profound (and often surreal) levels. Murakami rules!
